Islam Times - Speaking to middle-class families and voters, President Barack Obama spoke of his intention to rebuttal the budget plan being promoted by House Republicans, stating it would hurt the economic situation of working families and citizens...
Obama, in a speech to newspaper executives, was expected to sharply criticize a $3.5 trillion budget proposal pushed by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., which passed on a near-party-line vote last week. The plan has faced fierce resistance from Democrats, who say it would gut Medicare, slash taxes for the wealthy and lead to deep cuts to crucial programs such as aid to college students and highway and rail projects.
Paul Ryan's proposal aims to slash the deficit and the size of government while offering sharply lower tax rates in return for eliminating many popular tax breaks.
The President’s address to America’s middle class comes at a time when Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney looks to be on the verge of securing his party’s presidential nomination in the primary contests of Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington D.C.
Obama’s administration and presidential campaign as of late have started to increase their focus on Romney and his party, as an energy ad about the former Massachusetts governor seemed to openly criticize his economic slants, citing it’s economic destruction of the US middle class.
