The newspaper added: They speak of an increase from one side, and from another they talk of cutting back. It pointed out that as a preliminary protest move; the military suddenly stopped training exercises for a week for the high school students who will join its ranks next year. This came as a “frustrating shock” for about a 100 students who demonstrated in front of the army’s chief of staff Penny Gints in protest.

“Yediot Ahronot” newspaper revealed that the American Army will soon sign a large deal with the Israeli army, whereby the Zionist entity will be provided with equipment, Hummer military Jeeps, trucks, and weapons that the American army used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The newspaper added that senior Zionist military officials headed towards the U.S. to complete the details of the deal after the U.S. army withdrew from Iraq and reduced its presence in Afghanistan. The paper also clarified that the mentioned deal is “interesting” for the Israeli military since most payments will be from the U.S. aid funds and the hummers will reached the occupied Palestinian territories and be stored in army’s emergency storage places.

The Sunday Times mentioned that Israel plans to shut down the Dimona nuclear reactor in fear of it being targeted in any war that may be launched with Iran.

The Atomic Energy Commission and the Civil Defense Authorities in Israel took this decision after realizing that the Dimona nuclear reactor may be subjected to a missile attack from Iran

An Israeli newspaper had reported that the facility is no longer immune if a war broke out, and hence the officials said that shutting down the reactor in the Negev desert may reduce the risk of nuclear dangers in the region if targeted by missiles from Iran.

The Sunday Times pointed out that the official reason for shutting down the facility was that it was used for research and there is no need to operate it round the clock.

It was also reported that shutting down the facility would take weeks for it to cool down and lower radiation levels, and that the Dimona reactor is considered the second oldest reactor in the world and should have been disabled a long time ago.

The reactor had been used to produce plutonium used in making weapons. It also produces Tritium for the manufacture of hydrogen bombs.

According to leaked reports from the ministry of defense, the security measures at Dimona have been “fragile” for years.
