Al-Mazraawi to “Islam Times”: The Egyptian crisis would weaken Hamas

17 Jul 2013 06:01

Islam Times - The writer and political analyst Walid Al-Mazraawi said that the near future does not promise any understandings between the new Egyptian leadership and the Hamas movement, and that things are moving towards an escalation.

Al-Mazraawi in an exclusive interview with “Islam Times”, believed that the relationship between Hamas and the new Egyptian leadership will be tense, especially if they linked this issue to changing the leadership in Qatar, which was containing the Muslim Brotherhood, and thus the coming days will witness a rush forward that would possibly reach to the extent of confronting with the Egyptian army.

He expected that a split would occur within Hamas because of the Egyptian crisis, in comparison to the split we have witnessed within the Brotherhood in Jordan when the so-called the Zamzam group left the ranks of the movement.

Al-Mazraawi explained that the bottom line is moving in favor of Israel, believing that it is the main driver of what is happening in Egypt and Syria. He also noted that the Israeli-American capital is intervening in Egypt in order to install the military rule through the scenario that we have seen under the name of legitimacy and democracy.
