Islam Times: He added: "During the absence of President Saleh's approval, there is a distinct possibility for the occurrence of further acts of violence. This has led to hundreds of deaths among the demonstrators so far, as well as deaths among Yemeni security forces."

Hague in his statement, issued yesterday, called on all the parties to refrain from provocation and renounce violence, saying that the world watches closely, and those who commit crimes and violations on human rights should be aware that they will be held accountable for their actions.

The new British Foreign Secretary appealed President Saleh to commit to signing the Cooperation Council's initiative as a base for a political process for the transfer of power. Hague indicated that the UN Security Council unanimously expressed its fears about the crisis in Yemen, pointing out that "this is not a crisis for the Yemenis alone, but also it is a source of concern for the region and the world."
