Iran Condemns US Sanctions on Cyber Sector
In a statement released on Wednesday, Nasser Kanaani categorically dismissed and condemned the US government’s allegations against Iranian individuals and companies concerning cyber activities.

“By attaching various baseless labels to Iranian individuals and institutions, the American institutions cannot distract the wave of global criticism of the US’ unwavering support for the Zionist regime’s war crimes and genocide in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of Palestine and also the violent crackdown against protesters in the US,” he stated.

The spokesman advised the US government to end its military, financial, arms and international support for the apartheid Zionist regime instead of making groundless accusations against the other nations.

Kanaani also called on the US to reconsider its interfering policies that threaten human rights, international law, and world peace and security, and to behave responsibly.

On Tuesday, the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control announced sanctions against four Iranian citizens and two companies over their alleged role in cyberattacks against US targets.

The sanctions came against a backdrop of increasing protests inside the US against Washington’s arms sales to the Israeli regime.

At least 34,183 Palestinians have been killed and 77,143 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
