Islam Times - Iraqi security forces have arrested eight bombers with 1,100 kilograms of explosives in their possession in Baghdad.

The bombers were captured on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, four people were killed and eight others wounded in different attacks across the country.

Gunmen shot dead an anti-corruption investigator with the Iraqi Commission on Integrity in the northern city of Mosul. In another incident in the city, a civilian was gunned down in the morning.

In another incident, one policeman was killed and six people, including two police officers, were injured in a car bombing in the northern city of Baji.

In the eastern village of Balad Ruz in Diyala province, a bomb detonated at an Iraqi soldier’s home, killing his teenage son and injuring his wife and other son.

According to a tally by AFP, Tuesday’s incidents are the latest in a string of attacks that have left at least 132 people, including 62 security forces, dead across the country this month.

Violence has increased in Iraq since December 2011 when an arrest warrant was issued for fugitive Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, who has been charged with running a death squad targeting Iraqi officials and Shia Muslims.
