We want Jinnah's Pakistan, not Taliban's Pakistan: Altaf Hussain

8 May 2013 09:18

Islam Times - Pakistan’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Sunday reiterated that his party wants Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan and not Taliban’s Pakistan.

While addressing a public meeting via telephone as part of MQM’s electoral campaign at Jahanian constituency in the province of Punjab,Altaf Hussain argued that if religion indeed does seek to enslave people by forcing them to attend mosques and conform to Islam teachings then why mosques and Imam Bargahs are being attacked.

The MQM Chief stressed that despite all the propaganda, the graph of his party’s popularity could not be prevented from moving up.

It is at the time, when MQM is one of the three parties which are being threatened by Taliban’s terror militants.

Alaf Hussain demanded that the south Punjab be made an independent and autonomous province and urged the people not to look towards those who merely chant slogans and try to fool them. “Only keep the politicians’ character in view,” he advised the people.

Altaf Hussain claimed that MQM is only struggling for the people’s rights. He promised to resolve all issues once in power.
