Situation in Syria
The government has against many odds cut offs Islamic radicals near its borders with Lebanon and Jordan, as to disrupt their supply chains and prevent further troops to enter into Syria. While of course the border areas could not been permeated completely, the armed forces nevertheless carried damaging blows to the terrorists. It is in such time of great uncertainty that Syria is set to choose its next president of the republic.

1 – The Presidential elections: 
The campaign for the presidential elections officially kicked off on Sunday, marking the first time in the 40-year rule of the Assad family that Syrians are able to witness campaigns for other candidates other than Assad for the presidency. The multi-candidate poll is a result of the recent 2012 constitution that puts an end to Syria's one candidate referendums.
While President Al Assad remains the strongest candidate, Syria has embraced democratic reforms, setting the course for a new future.

2 - German cooperation with the Saudis: 
Germany and Saudi Arabia have come to an agreement whereby, their intelligence services would enable rebel groups in Syria to gain access to weapons and other military equipment, with a special focus on Idlib – border with Turkey – Sophisticated weaponry were transferred to militias in Tartous in preparation for clashed with the Syrian army.

3 – The United State and Iran talk strategy in the region: 
 Sources have confirmed that there had been some indirect talks in between Washington and Iran in relation to issues plaguing the region, such as instability in Iraq and Lebanon. Officials on Iraq have said to oppose the re-appointment of PM Nuri Al Maliki since he has proven unable to curb sectarian violence and unite Iraq many political faction into a coherent coalition government. In view of solving pending issues and tensions in the Middle East, Iran has agreed to meet with Saudi officials. Such talks are bound to impact on Syria.

4 – Jordan and the rise of the Salafis:  
As Islamic radicals continue to flood into the Levant, Jordan which has been turned into a giant incubus for terror has seen Salafi radicals pop at every corner. With radicalism on the rise across Jordan, experts have warned that the kingdom will soon pay the price for its actions against Syria as it, too, will fall prey of Saudi Arabia’s hordes.
 
5 – The United States:
Sources have confirmed that several US planes carrying sophisticated weapons and military equipment landed in Jordan – northern area – last week in what appears to be an arm race against President Bashar Al Assad. Regardless of the consequences the United States has committed dangerous weaponry to Syria rebels, knowing fully well that terror militants will be able to acquire some of them.

6 – Syrian army prioritize: 
Keen to create a safe zone for civilians, President BAsahr Al Assad troops have concentrated their efforts on Aleppo and Latakia countryside, systematically pounding away at rebel positions.

With Homs and Damascus securely under government control, the armed forces want to push to continue to push forward.
