Islam Times - Radical militias fight for power in Diyala

Islam Times - Armed gangs of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) today gave a two-day deadline for Sunni radical groups to subordinate or abandon the province of Diyala, while the Iraqi government forces try to benefit from this situation.

A police source in Baquba, capital of Diyala, located east of Baghdad, said that ISIS leaders demanded the groups that have support them so far, to yield obedience to them.

Given the deepening of disputes, ISIS set a 48-hour deadline for Sunni militants of the so-called Naqshbandi Army, Mujahideen Army and Islamic Army to decide if they fully join them or leave areas they dominate in Diyala.

ISIS declared in June an Islamic caliphate across the territory it has captured in recent weeks and from Diyala Province, Iraq, to Aleppo, Syria.

In fact, the revelation of disagreement with other radical Sunni groups came a day after human rights groups denounced the ISIS leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, ordered that all women between the ages of 11 and 46 must undergo female genital mutilation, which could affect up to four million women and girls in the country.
