Al Wefaq condemns the regime for systematic discrimination

16 Aug 2014 07:08

Islam Times - In a statement published on Monday, Al Wefaq, the most prominent party of the opposition has complained that Al Khalifa has continued to offer state’s incentives earmarked for citizens towards newly and unlawfully naturalized foreign nationals, thus preventing Bahrainis from accessing state service, such as housing services.

Bahrainis Shia have been systematically robbed of their rights by the state to the benefits of foreign nationals has complained Al Wefaq.

Al Wefaq called on the state to end such disgraceful apartheid policy, urging the authorities to recognize the need for fairness and equality. Al Khalifa have worked to naturalize Sunni foreigners in order to change the kingdom’s social and religious make up and retain their hold on power.

The great majority of Bahrainis are Shia Muslims, something Al Khalifa perceive as a threat as they are Sunnis.
