Islam Times - Lebanon sees rise in Daash popularity

Islam Times - A Lebanese man was behind an attack that left 15 people dead in Baghdad Tuesday, ISIL announced Wednesday, the second case of a citizen of Lebanon dying in Iraq while fighting with the group.

Hisham al-Hajj, known by his nom du guerre Abu Talha al-Lubnani, drove a vehicle packed with 300 kilograms of explosives into a crowded center in New Baghdad, east of the capital.

The attack, which occurred during the morning rush hour, wounded at least 37 people. A picture of the alleged suicide bomber carrying a weapon with the caption “the creators of life,” circulated on social media, and he was later identified as Hajj, a religious man who hails from the close-knit area of Rifaiya in north Lebanon’s Tripoli. He was believed to be in his mid-20s and went missing during the spring earlier this year.

As Lebanon continues to suffer from political instability, Daash is becoming popular in Tripoli.
It is believed that hundreds of young Lebanese have already enrolled with Daash, brain-washed into believing they are fighting for God.
