After Claim over Iraq’s Mosul, Erdogan Says Greek Islands ’Used to Be Ours’

Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, in his latest controversial remarks says, the 1923 treaty that defined Turkish-Greek border favored the later and gave away some islands that belonged to his country.
 
The Treaty of Lausanne defined long disputed border lines between Turkey and Greece in 1923. The issue was mounting to a state of war between the countries at the time.  
 
"I said Lausanne and they got annoyed. Why are you annoyed?” he said, adding that “these islands used to be ours".
 
"We have our monuments and our mosques there [on the islands]," Erdogan added “Whoever signed [for their passing to Greece] bears the responsibility".
 
Erdogan had previously made similar remarks on the Iraqi northern city of Mosul after Baghdad refused his request to enter the operation to liberate the city from ISIS terrorist group domination.
