Oman: We have good relations with Iran and we warn the West against attack it

Muscat (Islam Times)- The Sultanate of Oman revealed on the tongue of Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, that the risk of the outbreak of war between Iran and the West is growing but there are still plenty of opportunities to negotiate in order to reach a peaceful solution.


Bin Alawi said in an interview to Reuters that "it is in the interest of both sides of to find a middle ground solution... we can see that the threat of military confrontation is more likely, and not far”.
 
Bin Abdullah said: "because we keep a good relationship with both sides (Iran and the West), when we feel that there is a chance to offer advice to both sides, we do it".

When asked about the risk of a Western military attack on Iran, Bin Alawi said "There is still time but not long to seize the opportunities where the six powers and Iran can meet halfway to find a solution to this conflict".

Bin Alawi said that there are risks also that the concerns of the West towards Iran's nuclear program could spiral out of control. He called for more focus on the facts established on the ground, he said: "We appreciate the concerns of the international community and also recognize the position of the Iranian government".
