Cleric Terms Ahmadinejad's Speech at UN "Message of Iranian Nation"

25 Sep 2010 05:52

Islam Times - Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazzem Sediqi said that President Ahmadinejad reflected the message of the Iranian nation in his address to the UN General Assembly meeting.

Islam Times reports from FNA: "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president, informed the world of the message of Iranian hero nation and of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution clearly and transparently (in a speech) at the United Nations General Assembly," Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said, addressing a large and fervent congregation of people on Tehran University campus.

"We do not consider the remarks as those only belonging to the president himself rather as a divine gift to the (Iranian) nation," he added.

While defining nuclear issue and the US' involvement in the 9/11 incident, President Ahmadinejad challenged the US, he said.

Ahmadinejad, in his address to the 65th UN General Assembly meeting in New York, called on the world body to form an independent fact-finding group about 9/11 attacks on the US.

"It is proposed that the United Nations set up an independent fact-finding group for the event of September 11 so that in the future expressing views about it is not forbidden," Ahmadinejad said at the session on Thursday evening.

President added that the US administration took advantage of the suspicious September 11 attacks to justify its occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq.

"It was said that some three thousands people were killed on September 11 for which we are all very saddened. Yet, up until now, in Afghanistan and Iraq hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, millions wounded and displaced and the conflict is still going on and expanding," the Iranian president stressed.
