5 Sep 2011 11:49

Islam Times - Scuffles have broken out between pro and anti-Mubarak protesters and security forces outside the ousted president's trial venue inside a Cairo police academy.

Islam Times reports from Reuters: Several people are said to have been injured in the clashes outside the court as Mubarak's supporters and opponents gathered at the trial venue to show their loyalty or hatred towards the former dictator.

Four police witnesses prepare to give testimonies in the third trial session against Mubarak.

The ousted president arrived at the site of the court by helicopter to attend his trial.

Mubarak will be tried along with his two sons Gamal and Alaa, his former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and six senior police officers.

More than 850 people were killed and thousands more were wounded in the 18 days that led to Mubarak's ouster after a three-decade rule, according to official figures.
