Peace can’t be restored while Americans are in Afghanistan, says Munawar Hasan
Talking to Islam Times on the side-line of a seminar in Islamabad, he remarked that U.S. led foreign forces in Afghanistan have been defeated as Afghan people don’t accept foreign invasion.

The seminar was organised to address and discuss issues pertaining to Afghanistan in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad this Tuesday.

The JI Chief added, “Even if there is only one American soldier on Afghan soil, Afghanistan will not know stability and peace.”

He noted, “so far Afghanistan has become a graveyard for all NATO forces.”

Speaking on growing anti-American sentiment, he stressed that people’s hatred of America and Americans was born from the many abuses Washington authorized while in Afghanistan.

Commenting on the pull-out of foreign troops, the JI chief remarked that despite its huge resources America and its allies could not achieve cause.

The seminar was addressed by a number of scholars and intellectuals including Speaker Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Chiefs of their factions of Jamiate Ulemaye Islam Fazlur Rehman and Sami ul Haq.

It is important to mention that the U.S. had planned to withdraw several thousand troops from war-torn Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
