Jammers and cancer among the Palestinian prisoners in prisons
Islam Times: Islam Times correspondent in Gaza reported that a number of prisoners, especially in the “Shatta” prison have complained of headaches following the installation of these devices, and they have filed a request to management to remove these devices but to no avail.

Hamdouna added that there are scientific studies that confirmed the negative effects of communication devices and jammers as a main reason for the spread of cancers, particularly head tumors, as is the situation with the prisoner Akram Mansour due to the strong and high radiation of those devices, and Hamdouna drove attention to the cases of prisoner martyrdom after their release from prisons due to diseases and illnesses picked up from the prison.

He also added that the prisons’ management responded to the police that objected to placing the devices in close proximity to the rooms of the guards, and moved them to places close to the rooms of the prisoners.

Hamdouna called upon International Red Cross and human rights organizations to follow up this issue and work on removing these devices because of the damage they can inflict on the health of prisoners, and to carry out a regular comprehensive medical examination of the prisoners in the prisons to make sure prisoners are free from diseases and illnesses because of these devices.

Hamdouna called upon media personnel and organizations concerned with prisoners in cooperation with international organizations and pressure associations in decision influential countries to put pressure on the occupation to stop such policies that belittles the lives of the prisoners, and called on the media to debunk claims of safeguarding human rights and the lives of prisoners and which are void and propagated, and called on the public and relevant institutions on the issue of prisoners to stand for the prisoners to protect them until they are released.
