Daash changes Raqqa time zone – Move clock forward by one hour

The order is claimed to have been made in order not to follow the same timezone as the Syrian regime. Interestingly, the new time in Raqqa would match that in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Wahhabi Gulf countries.

With Daash further encroaching itself onto Syria and Iraq by asserting control over all aspects of civilian and religious life, experts and activists have rung the alarm, stressing that the group aimed to redefine society paradigms to its image.

According to sources on the ground, Daash leadership wishes to distance itself from the Syrian government by setting a different time zone, as if in a different country.
