Former Taliban Ambassador participates in Secret Meeting in London
Islam Times reports that the Pakistani Nishan Newspaper claimed that the former Taliban Ambassador to Islamabad met with the English foreign minister in London. Abd al-Salam Da’if participated in a secret conference held in London. He was to present plans of how to bring peace to Afghanistan.

The former Taliban ambassador, as the Pakistani newspaper reported, has close relations with Mullah Muhammad Omar. Nishan also stated that he was under close surveillance by the British police and did not have the permission to be interviewed by the media.

Abd al-Salam’s name was on the United Nation’s blacklist until Hamid Karzai personally asked them to remove it last summer. This is the first time that Da’if travelled to Europe after being exonerated.

The English government believes that diplomacy with the Taliban is the only method to solve the situation in Afghanistan. Some people think that this is because of the long relationship that England has had with the Taliban; they are considered friends.
