At the event a crowd of Australian officials – Prime Minister Tony Abbott, , MP Neil Farfars, MP Tony Issa, representative of the head of the state government, Mike Baird, federal and local member of the Legislative Council, Amanda Fazio, and a member of the Legislative Council, Shaukat Mousselmani – 

Dignitaries from the Christian and Muslim communities also came to attend the event as a mark of respect and inter-faith tolerance. A representative of the Greek orthodox community, Paul Saliba, Bishop Antoine Tarabay Monsignor Marcelino Youssef, Hashim Nasrallah Imam of the Zahra mosque, Sheikh Nami Farhat, Sheikh Salim diver, Sheikh Mohammed al-Ansari, Sheikh Mansour Allqaúa, and Father Tony Moses were all there among other religious representatives.

Representatives of Al Amal movement were also there, alongside members of the Free Patriotic Movement, the Syrian National Socialist, the Liberal Democrats and Director of the Arab Bank, Joe Risk.
