The Islamic Action Society detainees were put with those accused of crimes and drugs
Islam Times: The Islamic Action Society received news regarding the poor humanitarian situation in Jaw Prison as well as the deterioration of the health conditions of most of the leaders of Islamic Action Society. Not only have the Bahraini system release unfair provisions on the Islamic Action Society detainees, but continues to deny them their most basic humanitarian rights.

The Islamic Action Society detainees in Jaw prison conveyed the terrible state they are suffering from, where they have separated them and put them in separate cells with those accused of crimes and drugs. The Jaw prison is also known to be very dirty especially the bathrooms and provides the prisoners poor quality of food.

Some news confirmed the degradation of the health conditions of a number of prisoners of the Islamic Action Association and mentions that the Secretary-General Sheikh Mahfooz’s health was deteriorating before being transferred to Jaw prison. He was not allowed to transfer any of his medication or clothes, was separated from his companions, put in a cell with 4 people and was banned from any visits except phone calls where he conveyed that he is still visiting the prison clinic.

News also point out the deterioration of Mr Mahdi al-Moussawi’s health conditions, who suffers from chronic heart disease and needs special attention.

It is worth mentioning that the rest of the Islamic Action Society’s detainees were not allowed to carry any of their belongings or clothes when transferred from the Hawd al-Jaf prison to Jaw prison and all visits were forbidden during the month of October.
