World bodies unable to stop Israel's crimes: Egypt diplomat

Israel carries out unfair and blatant aggression against the Palestinian people every day and it is necessary that international organizations counter such attacks, Zayed said in an address to the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Committee on Palestine over the situation in Gaza in Tehran on Monday.
 
He added that Egypt has made great efforts to help establish a ceasefire in Gaza and safeguard the interests of the Palestinian people.
 
The Egyptian official emphasized that his country has sent more than 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to people in the besieged enclave.
 
Egypt will continue its efforts to help the dispatch of relief aid and foodstuff to the Gaza Strip, he said.
 
Zayed pledged that his country will make the utmost effort to help the Palestinian people both in political and humanitarian aspects.
 
Iran hosted a one-day meeting of the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine over the situation in Gaza on Monday which kicked off with an opening speech by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
 
Medical sources say at least 1,822 people, including 400 children, have been killed and over 9,400 injured since the Israeli regime began its offensive against the Gaza Strip on July 8.
 
The Israeli military says 64 of its soldiers have been killed in the conflict, but Palestinian resistance movement Hamas puts the fatalities at more than 150.
