The Kingmaker – Saudi Arabia congratulates Abdel Fattah El Sissi over presidential win
King Abdullah, who is in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, expressed confidence that El-Sissi’s rule would open a new era of peace and stability in Egypt.

Since the king has worked tirelessly to see rise El Sissi to the presidency, such a congratulatory tone brought little to no surprise.

“To the brothers and friends of Egypt ... I invite everyone to a donors' conference ... to help the country overcome its economic crisis,” the king said in a cable to the Egyptian president.

King Abdullah urged countries around the world not to interfere in Egypt’s internal affairs. “Causing any harm to Egypt is tantamount to harming Islam, Arabs and Saudi Arabia. This is a principle we are not prepared to bargain over,” the cable said.

He praised the new government for gaining the support of Egyptians. “On this historic win, we congratulate you for the confidence you have won from the people of Egypt, who have pinned their hopes and aspirations on you for a better future,” the king said.

King Abdullah said the Egyptian people have been suffering from the chaos and confusion that outside forces brought to the country. He said firm steps should be taken to stop those trying to undermine the country’s security and stability.

“A country or nation that fails to stop those who work for its disunity will not be able to protect its honour and prestige,” the king emphasized.

The Saudi leader urged all Egyptians to stand united and act with responsibility and vigilance. “They have to bear the present difficulties and problems to support the new president,” he said. “I am sure Egyptians are capable of overcoming all difficulties and obstacles.”

As El Sissi has managed to climb the ladder of power with the help of his makers and sponsors, the Middle East is on the verge of a massive political shift – the dices have already be thrown.

An alliance has been brokered which sees sitting on one side -- Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and possibly Morocco –

Quite clearly, Qatar, Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood are not members of this new exclusive club.
