From Afghanistan to Syria: Recycling Terrorism in the Middle East

Whenever state-sponsored terrorism in the Middle East occurs – and virtually all "Islamic terrorists" in the Middle East are state-sponsored (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31913.htm) – and understanding the origin of these "Islamic Terrorist" groups reveals a lot about what is really going on.
Al Qaeda, the U.S. government's boogeyman used to justify the merciless killings of innocent civilians in the Middle East was actually created under the Reagan Administration to help fight the Cold War. Since its inception Al Qaeda has been funded, trained and supplied by the CIA, and used for starting fraudulent wars in the Middle East and is currently being used for regime change in Syria (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31958.htm).
With Afghanistan, the propaganda used to justify the illegal U.S. invasion always left out all explanations of the origins and tendencies of Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and other Islamist groups resisting U.S. and NATO troops. America’s corporate media would have you believe that the U.S. and its incorrigible allies are fighting religious fanatics motivated by an irrational hatred of Western civilization and freedoms (link: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/karz-s08.shtml).
Islamic Terrorists are By-Products of the West
But occasionally, the mainstream media deviates from the propaganda script and inadvertently draws attention to the truth and historical facts regarding "Islamic Terrorists" that Washington prefers remain concealed. In 2008, Hamid Karzai, who was instilled by the George W. Bush Administration, admitted to TIME Magazine that Islamic terrorists are by-products of the West.
Karzai noted that the current situation in Afghanistan was a result of U.S. actions in the 1980s when the U.S. government and its cohorts colluded to create an Islamic fundamentalist army to wage a jihad or holy war against a pro-Soviet regime in Afghanistan and embroil the Soviets in a decade-long conflict. Karzai told TIME that to fix terrorism at large, the wrongs of the past 30 years needed to be undone.
During his interview, Karzai told Time that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were led to fomenting Islamic extremism in Afghanistan by the West. Karzai would know. He ran the office of Sebghatullah Mojadeddi, one of the leaders of the Mujahedin groups that liaised with the CIA and other U.S. officials (link: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/karz-s08.shtml). Karzai was upset because the Mojadeddi faction didn't receive as much money as the "radicals" from the U.S.
Since 1979 the U.S. has urged its allies to give military and financial aid to Islamist-based Afghan insurgents to undermine enemies in its empirical endeavors, wherever they may be. Since then, as much as $2 billion U.S. taxpayer dollars are poured into supporting U.S. covert operations in Afghanistan each year. In the 1980s the largest benefactor of U.S. financial and military support was Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hezb-e-Islami which is believed to have received $600 million in U.S. cash and weapons. The CIA also worked closely with Jalaluddin Haqqani, a guerilla commander responsible for building a large military force in ethnic Pakistan provinces of Southern Afghanistan.
Large sums of Saudi money financed training camps which were attended by thousands of Islamic militants from all over the world between 1985 and 1992, during which time Osama bin Laden, the son of a Saudi Arabian billionaire, helped form "The Base," or Al Qaeda in Arabic, which worked with the CIA -- who colluded closely with Pakistani and Saudi intelligence agencies -- to participate in the U.S. government's anti-Soviet jihad.
Pakistan Played a Crucial Role in Forming the Taliban
The U.S. won its proxy war with the Soviet Union that was fought with Islamists from 1979 on but Afghanistan was virtually destroyed in the process. Soviet forces withdrew from Afghanistan in 1988 and the USSR ultimately dissolved itself, but their barbarian counter-insurgency tactics killed over a million Afghanis, wounded nearly 1.5 million and 5 million people were forced to flee to Pakistan. The U.S. continued supporting the Islamists in their agenda to overthrow the pro-Soviet government of Mohammad Najibullah but relied almost entirely on the Pakistani military to oversee financing and supplying weapons to the Mujahedin.
Once the Cold War started winding down, the U.S. focused its attention on an oil-rich Middle East. Shortly thereafter, Saddam Hussein and his Iraqi regime invaded Kuwait, giving the U.S. government the opportunity to begin its cycle of never-ending wars. More than half-a-million U.S. troops were sent to Saudi Arabia and the first Gulf war against Iraq began in 1991. In Afghanistan, Pakistani-backed forces of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar carried out a murderous civil war for control of the country against other Mujahedin factions which resulted in destroying much of Afghanistan's capital Kabul and killing thousands of innocent people. That civil war paved the way for the Taliban -- or "religious students" (link: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/karz-s08.shtml).
Support from embittered youth was gained from faulty promises by Mullah Omar -- leader of the radical Islamic clerics -- who deceived his followers into believing that harsh Islamic law would lead to respite from war. The Taliban assembled a military force in Pakistani refugee camps in 1994, seized control of much of Afghanistan and finally took Kabul in 1996.
Pakistan played a crucial role in forming the Taliban's army and fighting alongside it. In 1995, Jalaluddin Haqqani aligned his large ethnic Pashtun militia with the Taliban. But the Taliban never controlled all of Afghanistan and it was constantly at war with other terrorist groups backed by India, Russia, and Iran to some extent. Naturally, the U.S. and major oil conglomerates welcomed the advances of the Taliban since they thought it would allow them access to a lot of Middle Eastern oil but at the time it did not.
Terrorist acts by Islamic extremists against the U.S. in the late 1990s were due to consequences of the late 1991 Gulf War. The Islamic radicals fighting to liberate Afghanistan from non-Muslim infidels were angry that American troops were in their country. Islamic Fanatics were outraged when the U.S. military established bases in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other Gulf states.
U.S. Fomentation of Islamic Extremism Led to the Invasion of Afghanistan
Al Qaeda committed terrorist acts against American targets to pressure Washington into removing its troops from Muslim countries. Osama bin Laden -- American trained terrorist -- called for a jihad against the U.S. in 1998. By 2000, the U.S. military, under the leadership of a corrupt appointed president, had developed plans for invading Afghanistan with the intention of installing a pro-U.S. government so oil pipelines could be built and the U.S. could build military bases to manipulate Iran. The only thing holding up U.S. plans for domination in the Middle East was justification to invade Afghanistan.
That all changed in September of 2001 when said corrupt appointed President and part of his administration perpetrated the greatest "terrorist" attack on U.S. soil. Al Qaeda did not have the ability to carry out such an attack without collusion with the CIA and Mossad. Within a month of the George W. Bush administration's treasonous acts, the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan began. More than a decade later, there is still no end to the war in Afghanistan in sight and the push for war with Syria and Iran is in full swing (link: http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/06/cold-war-2-0-has-begun-in-syria.html).
Once the Taliban government collapsed in 2001, Jalaluddin Haqqani regrouped his militia in safe havens in the ethnic Pashtun Federally Administrated Tribal Agencies (FATA) of Pakistan. At the same time, Hekmatyar's Hezb-e-Islami regrouped in parts of eastern Afghanistan and joined with the Taliban in resisting the U.S. and NATO. Inside Pakistan, Taliban-linked movements controlled most of the FATA and their influence spread.
The U.S. fomentation of Islamic extremism from the 1980s led to the pretext for escalation of conflict in Afghanistan. The U.S. sent more troops to defeat the Taliban -- an enemy that the U.S. is partially responsible for creating, funding, supplying weapons to and training. President Obama said he would order covert operations in Pakistan without the Pakistani government's permission if Pakistan's government couldn't prevent Islamic guerillas using the FATA as sanctuary.
Since the CIA is also in bed with Pakistan's Intelligence Service, it was easy for the U.S. to pursue its real objective of advancing Washington's economic ambitions in the oil-rich area. More than 30 years of the U.S. manipulating Afghanistan's affairs led to the illegal occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq, and covert operations in Pakistan (link: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/karz-s08.shtml).
U.S. Launched its Long-planned Jihad against Syria
Fast forward to Washington’s jihad in Syria today (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32018.htm). What's currently happening in Syria is neither new nor tied to the phony "Arab Spring" (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31965.htm) Democracy movement recently hyped by the media. After decades of perfecting deception to fleece an uninformed public into another quagmire, Washington's attention has turned to Syria (link: http://www.alternet.org/module/printversion/156432) and creating new propaganda to goad U.S. citizens into another illegal war (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31948.htm). Using the same modus operandi as those they used in Afghanistan, the U.S. has launched a long-planned operation against Syria through its regional allies and the "Islamic terrorists" they're sponsoring directly to destabilize the country (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31979.htm).
For the past 18 months Syria has been victimized by state-sponsored terrorism which has steadily become a widespread armed conflict that has already killed nearly 20,000 people. Western states are told by their media that Syrians rose up to overthrow Bashar el-Assad, their dictator who responded brutally and that the U.S. wants to intervene but Russia and China have opposed their interventions. The truth is that the U.S. launched their long-planned offensive to destabilize Syria with armed groups modeled after the Contras in Nicaragua. The "Arab Spring" ruse touted by U.S. media is nothing but a slogan designed to deceive the grossly misinformed U.S. public as the "revolts" have all been engineered by U.S. allies and NATO.
Leaders of the Syrian National Council (SNC) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) are not democratic at all. The faux "Arabic Spring" in Syria was actually illegal manipulations by the U.S. and its allies to remove a generation of leaders and impose the Muslim Brotherhood. Leaders of the SNC have proved to be nothing more than executors of U.S. interests. The leaders of the FSA recognize the spiritual authority of sheikh Adnan Alrour, a takfirist preacher whose intent is to overthrow and kill Assad -- not for political reasons, but because Assad practices the Alawite faith. All the identified officers in the FSA are Sunnis and all the FSA brigades are named after historical Sunni figures. "Revolutionary Tribunals" of the FSA sentence their political opponents to death and slaughter unbelievers in public. The intent of the FSA is to end the secular regime installed by the Baath, the SSNP and the Communist Party to impose a pure religious Sunni regime (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31979.htm).
History has again repeated itself as the Syrian conflict was premeditated by the U.S. based on prefabricated lies and misinformation (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31859.htm) from corrupt U.S. officials. After the fall of Baghdad in 2003 the U.S. Congress passed two laws that instructed the President of the U.S. to prepare wars against Libya and Syria (the Syria Accountability Act). Since that time the U.S. has been doing its damnedest to instigate wars with both countries. In typical fashion, the U.S., through the CIA and its proxies, has busily prepared mountains of lies and propagandas to justify its actions. The armed groups currently destabilizing Syria are all based on the U.S. preference for using Islamic terrorists. Small arms for Syrian rebels are being smuggled into Syria through a network of land and sea routes involving cargo ships and tracks moving through Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31855.htm).
The FSA, which the U.S. Treasury has authorized supporting financially (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32011.htm), in Syria is funded in part by Wahhabi monarchies (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sharijah), (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31921.htm) and some consist of mercenaries and other professionals paid to terrorize in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Iraq and a few other countries, which are attached to Al Qaeda in Libya, which is led by Abdelhakim Belhaj under Turkish command (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32006.htm) and the hospitality of NATO. Elsewhere, hard core Islamists formed their own militias or joined Al Qaeda under the control of Qatar -- the Sudeiri branch of the Saudi royal family which has close ties to the CIA, which has played a major role in organized terrorism in Syria. The Syrian National Army is being used for political repression and recently the Syrian government authorized the creation of neighborhood militias, distributing weapons to citizens who committed to devoting 2 hours every day defending their neighborhoods under military supervision (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31979.htm).
The West is Funneling Cash, Weapons and Fighters into Syria
Much of what the West hears from Washington’s Ministry of Propaganda consists of lies and propaganda aimed at manipulating public opinion. Today in America, the White House is responsible for much of the propaganda fed to its purposely ill-informed public. Ben Rhodes, Obama's Deputy National Security Adviser in charge of strategic communications, is responsible for spreading the word. Rhodes, in collaboration with the British MI6 -- and inevitably, collusion with the CIA based on Rhodes' talent for creating illusions and acts of treason for political theater -- created a phantom agency to serve as the primary source of information for Western news agencies called the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights which is actually only one man, to further enable spreading propaganda and lies about Syria as fact and truth (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31899.htm). NATO has also helped spread the vast Syrian disinformation campaign (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31952.htm) and colluding with Washington.
Elsewhere, the U.K. is busily training Syrian "rebels" in Iraq in military tactics, weapons handling and communications systems (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31973.htm). German Intelligence is reporting that "Al Qaeda" is all over Syria, telling the world that rebels are deliberately killing civilians, then presenting them as victims of the government, describing this "massacre-marketing strategy" as being among the most disgusting things ever experienced in an armed conflict (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31974.htm).
Israeli Mossad agents are currently conducting regular false flag terror operations in Bulgaria and other states in its efforts to fool the Israeli public into believing that invasions of Iran and Syria (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31938.htm) are warranted, and Zionist-controlled media in Israel – and the U.S. -- is blaming Mossad's false flags on Iran despite any evidence or proof (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31954.htm). The ever-present Zionist-led Israeli government is not an ally to the U.S. (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31994.htm) and it definitely is not a friend either. In fact, the traitors in Washington responsible for the past several decades are owned by Israel's Zionist-led government whose tentacles reach deep inside the U.S. political system.
Mossad's malfeasance is not surprising when you remember that Mossad, in collusion with the CIA, made numerous mistakes in trying to cover up their treasonous actions during 9/11 (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article28438.htm), which quickly unraveled right after they occurred. Lest we forget, the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) created a blueprint – which some people have compared to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kempf – for “rebuilding America’s defenses” (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1665.htm) which included a terrorist attack exactly like the one they pulled off on 9/11 (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3249.htm).
In typical fashion, when nations engaged in regime change by the U.S. mount a military defense of state-sponsored terrorists, the U.S. propaganda campaign claims "war crimes" are being committed, but never mentions those perpetrated by the U.S. and its Western allies (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31878.htm). Consequently, sorting through the propaganda and disinformation being fed to the U.S. public is easy once you grasp the fact that the west is still funneling cash, military armaments and weapons and foreign fighters into Syria (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31863.htm).In Washington, some things never change: War is betrayal (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31892.htm) and absurdity rules the world (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31894.htm). Understanding the U.S. involvement in what is happening in Syria will go a long way towards rectifying it.
