KSA seeks total destruction of Syria

Question: According to the testimony provided by these defected insurgents, it seems that Saudi Arabia and Qatar are funding nothing but anarchy on Syrian soil. What do you make of that?
 
Rizk: I think the interest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar is to prolong the war in Syria, so they have their own plan to come to a total destruction of Syria.
 
But the government of Syria has shown very strong positions. In the long distance run, we can say and we can be sure that the government will win the war. It’s just the consequences of this war. It’s going to take time. It might take years, another couple of years before we can see a total cleansing of Syria from those terrorists.
 
As you know, the Saudis have played a very bad part and the Qataris also in the beginning. Now the Saudis took over lately by supplying those gangs. As we see, the gangs or what they call themselves the free fighters or the FSA or whatever, they are acting like criminals doing everything without any law, a lawless territory…
 
Q: Can you just tell us, right now informal talks in Montreux between different parties and players, and also tomorrow, that is on Friday, in Geneva, formal talks will take place again, do you think this problem will be raised with the urgency that it requires?
 
Rizk: Of course, Syria is insisting by [Walid] Moallem the Foreign Minister, calling to stop all kinds of supplies coming from foreign countries. He was mentioning exactly Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.
 
Without cooperation from those countries who are backing up those...[militants] must stop right now to be able to solve the problem, to eliminate the problem totally on Syrian soil.
 
This will be the main issue now before the Syrian government can go to any further serious talks with any group that’s trying or searching to reach any kind of political solution.
 
Before we can eliminate the military problems on the Syrian soil by those countries who are strongly backing up those...[militants] or those gangs, the problem of Syria cannot be solved by negotiations...
