US-allied Arab states meddling in Libya
Sabri Malek, a spokesperson for the Democratic Party in Libya from London, said in an interview that the countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt are devising plots to counter the “revolutionaries.”

“Foreign element in Libya is very evident. The Saudi, the Emiratis and Egyptian regimes are supporting the counter revolutionizes. They are also using their air forces to bomb Tripoli and Benghazi and they are doing this on continuous basis,” Malek said.

The political commentator also ruled out a popular notion that the Libyan people or groups were now turning their guns on each other in an attempt to dominate politics and the country’s vast oil resources.

However, he acknowledged that remnants of the former regime are holed up in some Libyan towns and prolonged fighting was going on between revolutionary forces and loyalists of the former Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi.

The analyst also commented on the activities of the Saudi government, predicting that the Saudi monarchy will soon come to an end and democratic forces would prevail throughout the Arab world.

The remarks come as Fajr (Dawn) Libya -- a coalition of several armed groups -- have seized the capital, Tripoli, and most government institutions.

New Tripoli rulers have set up their own government, which the international community does not recognize.

Following the seizure of the capital in August, Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani, along with the new parliament, took refuge in the eastern town of al-Baida.

Libya plunged into chaos following the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
