A Turkish analyst warns that terrorism might reach to Turkey
Akjaa warned at Ankara of the fact that some terrorist acts would take place in Turkey in case the relations between Erdogan’s government and the terrorist group became tense.

Responding to a question about what has been spread regarding that the terrorists who belong to al-Qaeda have moved under the title of “jihadists” to Syria through the Turkish territory, he said that the support of the Turkish government to al-Qaeda that is being overlooked by the authorities of Ankara has become a fact known by everyone, yet this support has not been revealed by the mass media but only until recent days.

He explained that the reason for this is the fact that the major powers were considering al-Qaeda a very important player in their anti - Syrian scheme, but this scheme led to failure after the scenario of the use of chemical weapon and after America’s retreat from the decision of military intervention.

He added that a lot of the players in the Syrian crisis, including the United States, realized that al-Qaeda is harming them and that they are not benefiting from it and this is what led to raising questions about the legitimacy of the Syrian opposition groups because of the activities of al-Qaeda on the Syrian territory. In fact, the Westerners were unable to supervise the activities of the armed groups in Syria and to reunify them under one umbrella.

He continued saying: It is for this reason and in order to raise doubts about the legitimacy of al-Qaeda and to exert pressure on the Turkish government in issues related to the Syrian affairs, the Westerners have spread such news in media.

Akjaa considered that perhaps Erdogan’s government understood this game, and that is why it told the close media to broadcast news that distort the reputation of al-Qaeda. On the other hand, the members of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) feel disturbed about the close ties between the Party and al-Qaeda.

He clarified that in order to change this situation, to cleanse the reputation of the Party, and to make ground for the possibility of maneuvering in their failing policy over Syria, they tried to pretend that they are working to combat this organization, and if the news spread in the Turkish media about al-Qaeda were inspected, this reality would have been explained well.

Regarding the terrorists coming to Syria from other countries such as Britain through the Turkish territory, he said that the so-called the jihadists coming to fight with the Syrian government did not come from Britain only, but, as revealed by the Mufti of Syria, Sheikh Hassoun, the terrorists came from many countries as Eritrea, Denmark, the United States, Tunisia, France, Somalia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Chechnya Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

He explained that most of these terrorists are entering into Syria through the Turkish territory, where the civil institutions that belong to the Government of Erdogan support them and then they receive military training in camps intended for Syrian refugees generally, where the Turkish officials, including the MPs, are not allowed to enter to them.

He continued saying that Erdogan’s government claims that it is directly interfering in this process so that to abandon this responsibility in later stages and that is why it asked its civilian institutions to support the terrorists that have entered into this dirty game directly.

He pointed out that one of these institutions that is called the “Union for the Support of Freedoms” has held a forum with the two terrorist groups, the Free Sham and the Nusra Front, and the pictures of the forum were published in newspapers.

He revealed that the cities of Gaziantep and Hatay in southeastern Turkey constitute the main base for the two terrorist groups, al-Qaeda and the Nusra Front, that are supported and supervised by the “Bulbul Zadeh Foundation”.

He added that this institution provides logistic support for the terrorists that belong to this group, and their injuries are being treated in a hospital belonging to this institution in the city, and also the young Turks are being subjected to a process of brainwashing in order to participate in the war in Syria.

He stressed that Erdogan’s government provides full support for this institution, and that senior governmental officials and ministers participate in the institution’s meetings, as well as a number of the leaders of the so-called the “Free Syrian Army”, who attended a meeting with the officials of the institution in the city of Gaziantep several months ago.

He explained that in spite of the great support provided by the Ankara authorities to al-Qaeda in Syria, but they lost control over it. Also, he wondered that if the U.S. government that is considered the founder of this terrorist organization has lost control over it, how a Government with the same size as Turkey can retain control over it, since it is naïve to think to be able to control it.

This writer expressed his regret over the support provided by Erdogan’s government for this terrorist group, which turned out to be a source of damage to the interests of the Turkish people. “If something happened and the relations between Erdogan and al-Qaeda became tense, we would expect to see terrorist bombings and attacks in Turkey on a large scale”.
