Death toll in Gaza Strip reaches 1,364
On Thursday, one Palestinian was killed after Israeli shells hit Deir al-Balah and Shojaiyah in Gaza; 200 others were wounded.

Gazans had gathered in the area in Shojaiyah, as they thought a four-hour ceasefire announced by Israel was in place.

Israeli forces also launched a fresh attack on southern Gaza’s Zeitun neighborhood.

The latest attacks put the number of Palestinian deaths at 1,364. At least 7,680 others have also been wounded.

In retaliation, Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has fired at least 198 mortar shells and 9 rockets at Israeli troops during the past 24 hours.

They have also fired several M-75 rockets at Tel Aviv and launched projectiles at Ofakim and Ashkelon.

Israeli sources have confirmed the deaths of 56 soldiers. However, Hamas says the toll is much higher.

Despite international condemnation of Israel’s deadly attack, Washington has allowed Israel access to an American-owned munitions stockpile, which consists of missiles, armored vehicles and artillery ammunition.

Israel has also rejected a recent call by the United Nations for a ceasefire, which the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has endorsed.
