CIA is Funding and Training Al-Qaeda to Destabilize Libya
The U.S. has been grossly mislead on the facts of its government's role in helping Libyan "rebels" and the lies being told by the Obama administration to justify its war in Libya are being exposed.

The riots and uprisings in Libya weren't the same as those in Egypt, Tunisia and other parts of the world where people are demanding change. The same group’s the U.S. has been funding for decades in Libya is now trying to gain control of Libya. One group recently arrested in Libya turned out to be dozens of foreign nationals who were involved in several acts of sabotage and looting, and many were also linked to Israel. Some of the actual Libyan protestors were pro-Muammar Ghaddafi, though you wouldn't know it unless you were watching them on YouTube. But, like all good government censors who don't want the people to know the truth, YouTube has been dutifully removing those videos from its site and censoring information for the U.S. government (link: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=23474).

The main opposition group in Libya is the National Front for the Salvation of Libya, which is funded by Saudi Arabia, the CIA, and French intelligence. Great Britain funded an al-Qaeda cell in Libya hoping it would assassinate Ghaddafi. The National Front for the Salvation of Libya unified itself with other opposition groups to create the National Conference for the Libyan Opposition, and called for the "Day of Rage" that created chaos in Libya earlier this year. The National Front for the Salvation of Libya used the Libyan National Army to attempt a failed uprising in Libya back in 1996 and is well armed.

Why are the U.S. and its ally’s hell bent on removing Ghaddafi from his ceremonial office? Because he is a threat to the U.S. hegemony in Africa since he wants to unite Africa against the U.S. Most of Ghaddafi's ideas are contrary to U.S. interests and Ghaddafi has voiced many of his beliefs in U.S.-Israeli government conspiracies. Before the world decided to "aid the rebels" in overthrowing the Ghaddafi regime, Libyans actually fared quite well compared to the rest of the world: Libya ranked 61st in incarceration rates, Libya had the lowest infant mortality rate of all of Africa, the highest life expectancy of all of Africa, less than 5% of the Libyan population was undernourished, Libya had the highest gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power party (PPP) per capita of all of Africa and the highest Human Development Index of any country on its continent. The Libyan government abolished all taxes on food when food prices started rising and wealth among Libyans was distributed more equally. Libyans had a lower percentage of people living in poverty than the Netherlands (link: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=23474).

Libya got so rich because of its oil. The Libyan government does not allow foreign corporations to plunder its resources while starving the population, which angers NATO and its allies, especially the U.S. Libya, like the U.S., suffers greatly from corrupt politicians. In response to the Libyan government's corruption, Ghaddafi voiced his desire for oil revenue to be distributed directly to the people because in his opinion, the government was failing the people. But, Ghaddafi's position in the government is more ceremonial than anything else. Like many of the U.S.-propped dictators in the Middle East, Ghaddafi is a mouthpiece that doesn't have any actual power.

President Obama lied about his reasons for attacking Libya. The "rebels" responsible for the Libya uprising fought to kill Americans in Iraq, al-Qaeda has backed the rebellion, and Admiral Stavridis, the supreme commander of NATO has been disturbed by the "flickers" of an al-Qaeda force within the rebellion. The truth is the U.S. is paying al-Qaeda, and Obama continues neglecting to inform the U.S. population of that fact. The developments of the U.S. involvement in Libya are quite toxic and need to be viewed correctly: not in the light of the Egyptian protest but of the American activities in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen.

In fact, according to a recent New York Times report, the CIA and Britain’s MI6 scoured Libya as far back as 2003, allegedly to persuade Ghaddafi to halt his nuclear weapons program. Once that effort succeeded, the Times alluded that the CIA and MI6 went away, but they didn't. Once the protests in February erupted, the spooks went right back to undermining the process and picked up with its old connections where it left off. Now the spooks are arranging targets for air strikes and creating links between rebel groups to facilitate future endeavors. The head of the Libyan "Freedom Fighters" is on the CIA payroll. Things in Libya could not have gotten as far as they have without the help of the CIA made possible several weeks ago when President Obama signed a secret finding authorizing the CIA to provide arms and other support to Libyan rebels (link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-bromwich/cia-libya-obama-_b_843166.html).

Al-Qaeda Serves as Pawns of CIA Insurrections

Instead of providing the change he promised, President Obama has instead opted for more of the same -- continuing the failed and illegal neoconservative policies of the George W. Bush era, the same doctrines and strategies -- making it clear that the U.S. is going to be an aggressive imperial power no matter who is elected president. Under Obama, the strategic goals and the imperatives of the U.S. imperium, the principal theaters and the means of operation remain the same.

President Obama's CIA-driven war in Libya is growing more illegal by the day. Obama's Libyan war has gone on for almost three months now without Congressional approval by purposely abusing Presidential powers authorized by the War Powers Resolution. The Obama administration has made it clear that they intend to contrive "some plausible theory" to justify Obama's illegal war in Libya. Corrupting U.S. Law is bad enough. Corrupting International Law is even worse. As noted by Lawrence Davidson, “It is the sad height of hypocrisy when the United States, whose leaders claim to have the secret to world salvation (both politically and economically), not only corrupts international law to target others, but simultaneously goes to extraordinary lengths to protect its own nationals from that same law (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article28255.htm).”

As with the other illegal wars the U.S. is currently engaged in with NATO, too many innocent civilians are murdered with impunity while the invaders try to kill its target, which in the case of Libya, is Muammar Ghaddafi. NATO and the U.S. are guilty of committing many war crimes, but will probably never be held accountable. The fight with the CIA's "Freedom Fighters" is about destroying the African Union and implementing AFRICOM (link: http://www.herald.co.zw/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6641:africa-the-cia-and-war-against-libya&catid=39:opinion&Itemid=132) -- the take-over of its resources by the USA and finding more ways to corrupt the government.

Al-Qaeda has served as the pawns of the CIA Insurrection from Libya to Yemen. Libya is being mangled by the CIA-backed Al-Qaeda rebels of Cyrenaica. Pakistan will soon be joining in the fracas since the CIA has created its own Taliban to wreak havoc there (link: http://my.news.yahoo.com/cia-created-own-taliban-wreak-terror-havoc-pakistan-091621821.html). Why do Americans let their government get away with recruiting and training the very same "terrorists" it used to contrive its fraudulent "War on Terror?" As noted by Webster G. Tarplay, “Under Bush and Cheney, the alleged presence of Al Qaeda was used as a pretext for bombings and invasions. Under Obama, an overstretched and moribund US-UK imperialism is using Al Qaeda as its own irregular infantry in the effort to harass and cripple the nation-states of the world, causing them to disintegrate into a tribal, sectarian, criminal, and warlord chaos. In the current phase, Al Qaeda has resumed its original status as CIA guerrillas.” Training and recruiting terrorists makes it blatantly obvious that the CIA is in effect, a terrorist organization and one has to wonder exactly which terrorist organization actually poses the greatest world threat.
