The Zionist entity is not serious regarding the peace, and the Quartet is powerless due to America’s dominance
Islam Times correspondent in the West Bank reported that on Monday Al-Ahmad added during a meeting with a delegation from Latin America at the Legislative Council in Ramallah that every new government of the Zionist entity goes back to square one and cancels everything we reach earlier. He pointed to the example of the extremist Zionist government led by Netanyahu and Lieberman and how it canceled all agreements reached in the negotiations with the Olmert government.

Al-Ahmad said: we accepted the establishment of the Palestinian government over 22% of Historical Palestine’s land, and they even persecute us for this much and build settlements upon it disregarding all international resolutions and agreements that have been previously made.

He described the Quartet as powerless of performing its part because of American hegemony on it, and said that the United States backed down from its promises of establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of 1967, which led the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) to head to the United Nations to gain full membership, and despite all that the Palestinians are still clinging on the option of peace and negotiations but on clear basis and references.

He went over some of the racist practices of the occupation’s government. He pointed out to the presence of more than 350 occupational checkpoints blocking the movement of citizens in and from their land, schools, universities, and workplaces. In addition to the continuous building of the racial wall, the methodical deportation policy in Jerusalem, and its isolation from its Palestinian surroundings.

Al-Ahmad stated that the occupation controls all the groundwater basins in Palestine and sells us the water as it pleases. The share of water for the Palestinian citizen is one tenth the water share obtained by the Zionist settler.

The meeting was attended by several MPs, the Secretary General of the Legislative Council, and the Director of Public Relations in the Council.

It is noteworthy that the guest delegation, which includes MPs, professors, and journalists from Argentine, Paraguay, and Bolivia, came to Palestine to follow up on the Palestinian situation and visited the tomb of the martyr Yesser Arafat and a number of Palestinian cities. They also met with a number of Palestinian officials.
