The German court started the prosecution of the 28 year-old Alex W. who was charged with the murder of the hijab martyr, Marwa El-Sherbini. She was killed in a Dresden courtroom; the murder weapon being a knife. The trial started late due to security reasons in the same courtroom as the murder took place. There was heavy security due to many death threats. More than 200 police officers were present inside and outside of the courtroom.
She was attacked and killed after giving testimony in a defamation case against the current defendant. The was stabbed at least 16 times while Alex W. was shouting: “You don’t deserve to live.” El-Sherbini’s husband, Elwi Ali-Okaz was also stabbed a number of times trying to defend his wife.
