Egypt and Jordan officially rejected any foreign intervention in Arab countries and announced its decisive support of Saudi Arabia in killing the Shia Muslims of Yemen. Ahmad Nazif, Egypt’s Prime Minister and Nadir al-Dhahabi, Jordan’s Prime Minister, announced in a joint conference held in Cairo: “The position of Egypt and Jordan regarding the events of Yemen and Saudi Arabia’s military presence in Saada is that we believe that one should not interfere in the affairs of other countries. We do not permit a country to interfere in the affairs of another country.”
They added: “The murder of Muslims in Northern Yemen by Saudi Arabia is counted as a defense of their government and land.”
Saudi Arabia believes that the northern areas of Saada belong to them. Yemen, who has debated this with Saudi Arabia for years, has not shown any reaction to the renewed claims.
