Saudi Arabia, West losing influence in Yemen
Dr. Randy Short, a human rights activist, in Washington said during an interview that, “Saudis and their allies are losing full control” of Yemen.

The Saudi monarchy is disliked by the Yemeni public and several political factions as they are increasingly fed up with the Riyadh regime’s constant meddling in Yemen’s internal affairs, he said.

The commentator further stressed that Saudi Arabia has been the major instigator of violence and manipulator of Yemen’s complicated political situation in recent decades.

Hailing the positive role of the Houthi Ansarullah movement, the analyst noted that the movement is struggling to achieve the rights of the common Yemeni people.

In September, Ansarullah revolutionary fighters gained control over the capital, following a four-day battle with army forces loyal to General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, the half-brother of former dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Ansarullah movement had played a major role in the popular uprising that forced Saleh to step down after more than 33 years in power.

Short also said that the US assassination drone strikes have been targeting the civilian population instead of killing al-Qaeda militants across Yemen.

Commenting on the shaky political situation within Saudi Arabia, the commentator noted that the ongoing poplar movement in the oil-rich Eastern Province and unjust death sentence against Shia dissident cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr will lead to the collapse of the House of Saud’s monarchy.

The analyst also strongly criticized the US and Saudi Arabia for propping up ISIL terrorist group and al-Qaeda-linked militant groups across the Mideast region, saying the dictatorial Saudi regime and its Western backers have very “dirty, bloody and corrupt hands.”
