Anti-Israel protests held in 15 US cities
The protests organized by Jewish Voice for Peace were held Friday in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, among other cities, and drew 1,000 demonstrators.

In Boston, protesters were supported by the American Friends Service committee, Grassroots International and Ads Against Apartheid.

Jewish Voice for Peace is allied with the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement which campaigns for the boycott of Israeli goods.

Protesters in Boston picketed in front of three companies they said were complicit in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians.

The anti-Israel protests in the US come as more and more Palestinians are being killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip. According to the latest reports, over 160 people have been killed in 6 days of non-stop attacks.

So far, Israeli warplanes have bombed some 1,300 targets in the Gaza Strip. According to a UN report, nearly 80 percent of the victims have been civilians.

Meanwhile, Palestinian families flee their homes in northern Gaza as the Israeli military is preparing to unleash a large-scale bombardment of the besieged territory.

As demonstrators across the United States were holding protests on Friday, the US House of Representatives expressed support for Israel’s deadly strikes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Lawmakers in the lower chamber of US Congress voted in favor of a non-binding resolution that acknowledges Tel Aviv’s right to what they call self-defense.

The resolution was one of many pro-Israeli measures by the US, where the Zionist lobby exerts great influence.
