Shaker had fled justice more than a year ago following bloody incidents that erupted in Abra, a neighbourhood of the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, between the army and supporters of the extremist cleric Ahmad al-Assir.
Sidon’s clashes were the most intense bouts of violence in Lebanon, and have resulted in the death of at least 16 troops of the national military.
