Almost 430 kids killed in Israeli raids on Gaza
According to latest figures released by Palestinian health officials in Gaza, the Israeli military attacks have claimed 1,867 Palestinian lives so far, while more than 9,500 others have been wounded.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the injured include more than 2,800 children, over 1,800 women, and 374 elderly people.

On Monday, Israel declared a seven-hour ceasefire in some parts of Gaza. However, minutes into the unilateral truce, which started at 10 a.m. (0700 GMT), an Israeli airstrike targeted a house at the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, killing a child.

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has said the destructive effects of the Israeli onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip are “almost indescribable.”

“We see children killed, injured, mutilated and burnt, in addition to being terrified to their core. The consequences run much deeper than previous flare-ups,” said Pernille Ironside, the chief of the UNICEF field office in the blockaded area.

Israel launched a military offensive in Gaza on July 8 and has since carried out a large number of strikes across the blockaded enclave.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.

The Israeli military says 64 of its soldiers have been killed in the conflict, but Hamas puts the fatalities at more than 150.
