Palestinian Prisoners Club Demand Israel Release Details of the Shalit Deal
The PPC have demanded that the details of the Shalit Prisoners Agreement deal be published for the general public in order to pressurize Israel into admitting to breaking the deal.

Israel broke the deal when they re-arrested 8 prisoners on the same charges after the release of Gilad Shalit, an Israeli who was detained in Gaza and released in exchange for 1,027 Palestinian prisoners.

Human rights groups are concerned that Israel are continuing to break their own deal, re-arrest Palestinians based on the same charges alongside not making improvements in Israeli prisons.

The PPC confirmed in a statement that they received a copy of the deal and that the occupation authorities continue to violate the Convention through the prosecution and the arrest of ex administrative detainees. They furthermore continue to interrogate them alongside raiding several homes.

“Human rights groups are now concerned that Israel not only breaking the Shalit deal but re-arresting Palestinian prisoners without charge or using their previous charges, which defies the deal.”
