Palestinians slam excessive force against demonstrators
The latest attacks on Palestinian demonstrators began on Saturday, when a group of Palestinians took to the streets of Ramallah in protest against a planned visit by Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz. He was scheduled to meet acting PA Chief Mahmoud Abbas in the Muqata'a compound.

The protesters waved Palestinian flags and called for an end to negotiations with Israel. They also demanded an end to what is called 'security coordination' with Israel and also to police brutality against Palestinian protesters.

Acting PA chief Mahmoud Abbas later claimed that the scheduled meeting with Mufaz has been called off in response to the demonstrations. While Mofaz served as Israeli Minister of Military Affairs, about 1705 Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces.

Palestinian youth who were attacked and violated by Palestinian Authority security forces during demonstrations earlier this week were able to gather enough support and march to the Muqata'a compound to demand an end to police brutality.
