Military sources confirmed that the airforce backed troops on the ground in Aleppo to regain control of several key strategic positions.
While the army is cutting of rebels and terror militants, ISIL operatives turned against Al Nusra Islamists. Reports of mortar shells being fired in between the two Islamic groups were reported by sources on the ground.
In Al Zabadana city in south-western Syria in the Rif Dimashq Governorate, close to the border with Lebanon, the army came under rebel fighters’ heavy fire. Despite many losses and casualties, troops managed to break rebels’ momentum.
All the injured were moved to nearby hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
Tanks have now moved in the area to secure a safe perimeter for troops to move into.
