US: Images show Russia fired rockets into Ukraine

The images released on Sunday were taken from the US Director of National Intelligence. They claim to show blast marks where rockets were fired and craters where they landed.
 
The four-page memo is part of the Obama administration's campaign to blame Russia for incidents happening in Ukraine.
 
According to the memo, the images provide proofs that Russian forces have "fired across the border at Ukrainian military forces and that Russian-backed separatists have used heavy artillery provided by Russia in attacks on Ukrainian forces from inside Ukraine."
 
Another image shows "ground scarring at multiple rocket launch sites on the Russian side of the border oriented in the direction of Ukraine military units within Ukraine."
 
"The wide areas of impact near the Ukrainian military units indicate fire from multiple rocket launchers," the memo said.
 
In addition, the memo contained an image described as evidence of self-propelled artillery only found in Russian military units "on the Russian side of the border oriented in the direction of a Ukrainian military unit within Ukraine."
 
According to officials, the images depict heavy weapons fired between July 21 and July 26, following the downing of the Malaysia Airlines passenger plane on July 17.
 
The US is stepping up pressure on Moscow. Pentagon has recently said moving Russian heavy-caliber artillery systems into Ukraine was “imminent.”
 
However, Russia has strongly denied accusations of any involvement in eastern Ukraine. Moscow accused the US of "an unrelenting campaign of slander against Russia, ever more relying on open lies."
