Iraq Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki wants unified Mosques

"We wish to gather all Muslims under one roof. We wish to unify al Iraqis beyond sectarian lines.
I call for the establishment of a unified Friday prayer in one of Baghdad big mosques to be held every Friday."
Al-Maliki stresses that at a time when factions and groups are trying to spread sectarian hatred, the state need promote unity and nationalism as to foil such scheme from succeeding.
The Premier called on all "distinguished scholars to carry out their duties, to out-root sectarianism and promote unity."
He added that all Mosques are under the protection of the state.
