The indications of Samir Geagea’s visit to Saudi Arabia
In this regard, sources indicate that the most prominent things that motivated Geagea to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are the following:

•    The control of the leader of the Future Movement, Saad Hariri, over the diplomatic file of the March 14 forces, and this made the leader of Kataeb party Amine Gemayel and the leader of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea become just fringe elements when it comes to the foreign relationships and movements. Therefore, Geagea’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes within the efforts of raising Geagea’s morale and adding a measure of the diplomatic political efficiency on the charisma of his leadership, which became a local interior leadership, and this is not consistent with the specification of the “Lebanese political prestige”.

•    Saad Hariri, the leader of the Future Movement, sought to combine the advantages of “the policy of maneuvering on the external lines” through his control over the diplomacy of the other members of the March 14, in particular, both Amin Gemayel and Samir Geagea.

* Where is Samir Geagea’s partnership with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques going?

The Saudi diplomacy is the most secretive and confidential in the world, in terms of the few issued statements and reports. Yet, leaks about the visit of the Lebanese Christian leader Samir Geagea to the Saudi capital Riyadh stated that the proceedings of Geagea’s visit included the following:

•    Holding meetings with senior Saudi officials, and particularly those who are concerned with the diplomatic affair and the Saudi national security, in addition to some of the major figures of the Saudi royal family.

•    Understanding the terms of a new agenda that focus heavily on facing the potential risks due to the developments of the facts of the Syrian political protests.

•    Understanding how to cooperate in terms of dealing with the repercussions of the period after the departure of the U.S. troops from Iraq, and what could result from this i.e. the increased Iranian presence in the Lebanese political scene.
Additionally, the leaks say that the road map of the Saudi and Gulf foreign policy towards Lebanon will seek again to achieve the following:

•    Undermining the records of the Doha agreement; the main reason that allowed the March 8 forces to rise and to exclude the March 14 forces that are allying with the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States.

•    Reforming the Taif Agreement in a new revised version, taking into account closing the gates that give Damascus an opportunity to influence the actions of the Lebanese political scene.

In addition, sources pointed out that the scenario of the coup against the Doha agreement will include igniting the Lebanese arena, and the only available opportunity to achieve this will exclusively happen if Damascus collapsed as a result of the scenario of the political protests taking place currently, which are backed by the U.S., France, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, and Turkey.

The leaks added that Geagea’s talks with the Saudis focused exclusively on the scenario of the coup, and on preparing arrangements and setting up required resources to do so. In this regard, the leaks say that Riyadh became more aware of the extent of the sensitivity of Samir Geagea concerning the dependency to the influence of Saad Hariri. In fact, the coming period will witness the founding of a diplomatic line relating to the Meerab-Riyadh relations, which will be linking Samir Geagea, as a head, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without passing through Hariri’s window.

It is expected that Riyadh would seek to open a third direct window to deal with Amin Gemayel, and this would allow Riad to maneuver on the three lines. In other words, Riyadh can through those windows deal with each part separately, in order to avoid embarrassment, which was always found as a result of the fact that the relation between Riyadh, Geagea and Gemayel was limited and linked to the window of Saad Hariri. It is known that Harir is a trader first and foremost, and he has a unique ability to capture “money” especially if they were from Saudi-Gulf sources and origin. However, Samir Geagea is characterized by the ability to carry out specific operations, mainly: deploying snipers- managing the kidnapping operations- establishing secret prisons, spreading and planting networks of agents. Thus, these services are needed by Washington and the parties of the axis of Riyadh-Doha in Syria, and especially in the unstable areas. Based on this, Riyadh’s best option is to deal with the right “customer” directly, without any intermediaries so as to maintain confidentiality, and to reduce the costs.
