Bahrain, US hold joint military drill
The joint maneuver is aimed to bolster commanding cooperation of the two states' joint operations and boost mastering the use of defense sites in face of any possible airstrikes.

Earlier in mid-November, the navies of Bahrain and the US held joint military maneuvers in the Persian Gulf, which many commentators believe were planned as part of the Manama regime's efforts to divert international attention from suppression of Bahraini protesters.

The maneuvers, dubbed “Rapid Reaction”, started on November 14 and continued until November 23.

The United States, whose navy's fifth fleet is stationed in the Bahraini capital, Manama, has provided support for the Al Khalifa regime during months of crackdown on peaceful protesters in the Persian Gulf state.

Bahrain and US's maneuvers come at a time when the Saudi-backed Manama regime is facing growing unrest and opposition across the country with peaceful protesters, demanding an end to the rule of Al Khalifa dynasty.

Bahrain's brutal crackdown on protests has killed scores of people since the eruption of the popular revolution in the Persian Gulf kingdom in February.
