Yemen first day under Houthi leadership

Yemen first day under Houthi leadership
A day after Houthi fighters successfully crushed Al Islah’s resistance – Sunni radicals – order and calm have restored throughout the capital, safe from a few pockets of resistance here and there.

Houthis militants spread across the capital to gain control over all Islahi positions in order to prevent any violent spill-over.

As government officials work to abide by the terms of the agreement signed by all political parties and the Houthis last Sunday evening, Abdel-Malek Al Houthi has ordered his men to work with Police to maintain order throughout.

It is absolutely crucial to note that for the first time in three decades Yemenis have begun to see justice rendered. As Houthi militants assume control over state institutions and businesses they began the arduous task of returning some of the looted funds of Yemen, restoring lands to their rightful owners.

In Aden - southern seaport – residents could be seen celebrating and dancing in the streets as they saw corrupt officials leave the country after the Houthis warned they would hold all civil servants accountable for their actions.

Former South Yemen President Ali Salem Al Baidth eventually saw his property returned to him. Back in 1994 Al Ahmar clan unlawfully claimed ownership over Al-Baidth’s residence. On Monday the Houthi took pride in announcing that justice had been rendered against criminals.

In an address to the nation Abdel Malek Al Houthi specifically called on all Yemenis to stand united as a new era in the country begins.
