The newspaper al-Arab printed in Iraq published the text, or part of the text, of the talks between the Secretary of State and the Iraqi prime minister. At the beginning of this week, Hillary Clinton traveled to Iraq and asked Nouri Maliki to forgive the Iraqi Ba’thists and allow them to enter the political scene in Iraq. After Nouri Maliki opposed this, she threatened him of overthrowing his government within two weeks.
Hillary Clinton traveled to Iraq on Saturday, just two days after explosions hit Kazemayn. The reactions of the foreign minister showed how much America is worried about what happens in Iraq. Clinton’s statements also show her inexperience because she should have known that Nouri Maliki is a leader who is supported greatly by the people of Iran. He defends the independence of this nation – which is just what happened. One day after Clinton returned to Washington, Nouri Maliki ordered the arrest of four American officers who entered the house of Iraqi citizens in Basra, killing one member of the family. If she travels to Iraq again she will fix her manners and describe the reality of this independent state.
Before this, Rice also showed her inexperience. In the third or fourth day of the 33-Day-War where Israel shelled the civilian areas of Lebanon and the notion that the Zionist regime would win was there, Condoleezza Rice entered Beirut and called the Lebanese representatives to a meeting. In this meeting she faced Nabih Berry, the head of the parliament and the mediary between Hizbollah and the government, and said: “I will sit for two hours in the office of the prime minister. Bring the two Israeli soldiers – who were captured a few days earlier by Hizbollah – to me so I can return them to Tel Aviv.” Berry answered her in that meeting by stating: “You would waste your time, you can go now.” Rice struck the table angrily with her fist and left for the airport where she told the Israelis that the situation is not under control.
America must leave the cities, villages, and roads of Iraq by the 30th of July, 2009. They are under severe pressure by the people and government of Iraq to do this. The political parties dependant on the Ba’thists, the Shia and Sunni secularists, the religious groups opposed of having a Shia as the president, namely Hareth al-Dari and al-Qaeda do not have any role in the Iraqi political process which means that if America leaves Iraq will be officially given to the hands of those who oppose America and America’s presence in the region. This is very dangerous for America, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
