Bahrain’s naturalization row with Qatar continues

Bahrain Interior Minister for Naturalization and Passports, Rashid bin Khalifa has slammed Qatar for pursuing its naturalization campaign of Bahraini nationals. He noted that before Bahrainis could ever acquire a second nationality the kingdom would have to be duly notified and authorization granted by the respective authorities.

Bahrain has accused Qatar of using naturalization as a political weapon and a tool to interfere with the internal affairs of the state.

Earlier in March, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates pulled out their ambassadors from Qatar.
