Iraq shoots suspicious Saudi plane

The governor noted in a press statement, "The security forces overseeing the protection of Nasiriyah central prison reported at dawn on Monday the presence of an aircraft ... Following careful monitoring the plane was pursued and shot at." He added that upon being engaged the plane retreated back to Saudi Arabia's airspace.
 
Al-Nasseri justified the harsh stance on account that the prison accounts terrorists as inmates. There are over 1600 detainees at Nasiriyah prison.
 
The governor stressed that his security forces would remain on high alert as to prevent any break-out attempt or rescue operation. He added that Iraq would not tolerate any violations of its territorial sovereignty.
 
Officials have been keen to avoid yet another al-Qaeda jail break out.
