The Arabs normalize relations with Israel and the West boycott it
The way by which he was managing the Palestinian affairs was miserable. During his reign, the Palestinians were divided between the Fatah and the Hamas movements, Fatah in turn has been divided and is going to be divided between Mahmoud Abbas and Mohammed Dahlan, the settlements are rapidly expanding on daily basis, Jerusalem has been controlled by the Zionists, and the West Bank became a scene for the soldiers of “Israel” to kill everyone therein and to detain whomever they want. The guards of Mahmoud Abbas and his security forces are watching what those soldiers are doing against them and against their families without having any reaction, and every day the settlers wander and stroll in the streets of Al-Aqsa Mosque unchecked and Abbas found nothing left in front of him to do but only to call the Council of the League of Arab States to meet on 9/4 in Cairo at the ministerial level to discuss the findings of the stalled negotiations between the Palestinian Authority  “Mahmoud Abbas” and the Foreign Minister of America Mr. Kerry regarding returning to the negotiations with the Israeli side.

Mahmoud Abbas knows very well since signing the Oslo Agreement in September 13, 1993 that the negotiations with “Israel” is useless and he has heard with his own ears the words of Yitzhak Shamir, former Prime Minister of “Israel”, in the “Madrid” conference: “We will negotiate for twenty years without reaching any results”, and today the twenty years have been completed with an additional year and the negotiations are taking place between the parties without any significant result.

The Council of Arab Ministries of Foreign Affairs listened to the report of the Palestinian Authority for what is going on and Mahmoud Abbas wanted to share with them the whole issue so as not to bear the responsibility alone of the chains of the continuous failure ever since 1993. Yet, the Council of Arab Ministries of Foreign Affairs did not submit any practical project to meet the Israeli intransigence at all levels.

All what the blessed Arab ministers have done in their meeting is that they considered that “Israel” is responsible for what is going on because of its refusal to abide to the terms of the peace process and to adopt the principle of the two states (.. ) and assigned the presidency of the Arab Summit (Kuwait), the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Morocco), and the Secretary General of the Arab League to thank the countries that supported the Palestinian step to join the United Nations as an observer, as this event was seriously important. The Council of Arab Ministries called on the member states to provide financial support for the State of Palestine and to activate the safety net.

This step taken by the Council of Arab Ministries of Foreign Affairs is extremely surprising, for it thanked the Egyptian government for its efforts towards the Palestinians. I was expecting that the Arab Ministerial statement would criticize the Egyptian government because of the way by which it is treating the Palestinians who are traveling through its territory to the Gaza Strip or getting out of it to their destination.

I expected that the Council of Arab Ministries would insist on lifting the blockade on the Gaza Strip by Egypt, the member of the Arab League and its permanent headquarters. I was expecting the Council of the League to put the decision to boycott “Israel” again into effect. In fact, this Council disappointed us and dissatisfied our hopes towards the cause, which they met to discuss its affairs.

In the Arab countries there are efforts to normalize relations with “Israel” secretly and openly and at all levels, and in Europe there are efforts to boycott “Israel” economically and scientifically. Those endeavors are stronger and greatly influential than those of the Arab League and its decisions and recommendations. In Britain, for example, they boycotted the companies that sell products originating from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Moreover, the Universities and College Union (UCU) and major higher education institutions in Britain, which comprises more than 120,000 members, decided to boycott the Israeli universities in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Government of Norway has decided to withdraw its investments from 44 companies, including an Israeli company that produces unmanned aircrafts, and their argument is that they are used in the killings and assassination of Palestinians and they produce alarms used in the apartheid wall in the West Bank. Political sources indicate in Tel Aviv that these decisions were the result of the pressure of the civil society organizations and trade unions in Norway who accused the Norwegian government of funding the killing operations that are taking place against the Palestinians. This was not limited to Norway and Britain, but the same goes for some universities in the U.S. and in other countries.

The Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas asks the Arab states to fund its forces monthly by an amount of 100 million dollars, but the question that arises here if the security forces that belong to the authority in the West Bank cannot prevent the occupation army soldiers from entering the cities and from abducting whomever they want and killing many people of the West Bank, why then money should be spent on these forces! Also, if it was unable to collect taxes from the citizens on the services and “Israel” collect them on behalf of the authority, if the authority was receiving aid from Europe and from other countries to the sector of electricity and water through “Israel”, and if the authority is keeping its accounts in the Israeli banks then what is the Ministry of Finance and its employees for? What I want to say is that the West Bank is legally occupied by “Israel” and that the occupying forces are responsible for the security of the citizens under occupation and must facilitate their education, health and other services as well as the supplies and that the authority does not need to beg inside the capitals of the Arab world.

As a conclusion: the authority must be dissolve, “Israel” should bear the responsibilities as an occupying state, and the Palestinians should return to the program of resisting the occupation by all means.
