In a press statement, the spokesman of the banned group (LeJ), Abu Sofian noted, “These revenge attacks will target the security forces in the Sindh province, especially in Karachi.”

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), - the ruling party in Sindh - Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has recently claimed to have received threatening letters from Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has also confirmed the Sindh government too has received threats from the banned outfit.

The Minister while talking to media stressed high ranking dignitaries in the Punjab Government has strong relations with the banned outfit LeJ.

He called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take rapid and necessary action to prevent further bloodshed.

In its threat to the Sindh government, LeJ warned the provincial government to stop all operations against its members under threat of retaliation against its Police and Rangers.

The banned LeJ has been involved in the massacre of a number of innocent Muslims in different areas across Pakistan, including Karachi and Quetta over the past few years.
