America, the assumed defender of human rights, prevents the humanitarian aid from reaching to the Palestinian People
Islam Times: Today, the U.S. is preventing the aid from reaching to the Palestinian Authority and people, and this only comes to retaliate against the demand by the Palestinian Authority to the international community to recognize it, and to have independence. Yes, it is true that the aid prohibition was not stated in an official statement, as President Mahmoud Abbas said, but it is just a threat of increasing the starvation and oppression of the Palestinian people if they did not retreat from their demand and did not accept the negotiations with Israel.

Then, what kind of human rights’ defenders the United States and the arrogance are claiming to be? Is it permissible to use the humanitarian need of medicines, money, and others to achieve unfair political objectives? Is it permissible to exploit vulnerable peoples to make them surrender and to get rid of them? Where are the human rights organizations regarding all what is committed by the United States and Israel? It is also evident that most of those organizations, if not even all of them, are working in favor of the arrogance and know nothing about human rights!

What is even strange is what we heard about an opinion poll conducted by one of the U.S. poll organizations, in which it says that the majority of the world sees the West, including America of course, as one of the most democratic and free countries that defend the human rights.

This reveals one of those four possibilities, and nothing more. Either that the party that conducted the survey is not sincere, but is dishonest and aims at misleading the people, or that the western people who voted for this result are misled by their media to an extent that they are not actually aware of what is going on around them, or that they are stupid and silly to an extent that they do not distinguish between the right and the wrong. They could also probably be familiar with what their governments are committing of oppression and murder, and are satisfied with this and believe that their governments have the right to control the world, even if this requires going beyond human rights and freedoms.

Yes, we do rule out the last possibility, because of what we are witnessing of demonstrations in various parts of the Western world, which are demanding their governments to change their foreign policy and not to comply with the United States and Israel, as happened recently in France. Anyway, a fair man can review history a little bit, to see which countries were violating human rights through the practices of torture against people in prisons, like Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons, and which countries launched wars on other countries. Are those countries the third world and underdeveloped countries, or they are the countries of civilization and democracy, as the West call them?
However, despite everything, what is happening in Palestine and in other vulnerable countries is not the fault of the West only, but the Arabs are accountable first and in particular. Why did the Arabs allow the United States and other states to exploit the poverty and the need of the Palestinians? Didn’t the Arabs possess enough money to help the Palestinian people, or their Western masters did not allow them to spend their money in helping the oppressed people in Palestine? Or perhaps there should be some meetings and summits held to discuss the Palestinian situation and whether it really needs help or no?
We did not hear one day anything issued by the Arabs in favor of the Palestinian people, except letters and meetings demanding stopping the oppression against the vulnerable people, and some shy condemnations against the Israeli government for its crimes against the Palestinians. Perhaps, some Arab countries are supporting the Zionist government to eliminate and get rid of Palestine and its people, which are embarrassing many Arab countries in front of their peoples as they supported it during the war on Lebanon in 2006.

However, this stigma has begun to disappear little by little stepping away from the Arab people and not the leaders. Overthrowing the tyrants from their thrones is the beginning of the freedom of those peoples, and the beginning of restoring the glory and dignity of the ancestors. The Arab peoples after achieving victory, one after the other, must recover Jerusalem the “Arab Nationalism’s Bride”, and remove Israel the cancer from their region.

Today before tomorrow, those peoples should support the Palestinian people with all available means, by money, medicine, food, and even arms. They should also sacrifice oneself to fight against the common enemy! Experience has shown that the only solution that ensures the right of peoples, when dealing with an unjust alike Israel, is the jihad and not what Israel wishes i.e. the negotiations that allow it to complete its project and to spend time. What did our leaders achieve from their negotiations with the Zionists and the West, but only further humiliation and shame?
